Scaling Success
Level It Up is a Manitoba-based social enterprise dedicated to connecting autistic and neurodiverse job seekers with careers in STEAM fields. Their flagship employment training program helps learners build the soft skills they need to navigate interviews and workplace environments with confidence.
Opportunity
The program was originally delivered in person, relying heavily on facilitator-led discussions and hands-on exercises. As demand grew, the team needed to translate that rich experience into a scalable, accessible online format without losing the human-centred approach that made it work.
Strategy
Level It Up chose NeonTrain's Guided Build option, working one-on-one with a Learning Experience Designer to co-create the course from start to finish. Discovery sessions mapped the existing curriculum to the right Brightspace tools, with Universal Design for Learning principles guiding every decision. A custom Facilitating in Brightspace training followed, so the team felt confident running the course on their own.
"It wasn't a high-pressure sales situation, but more a discussion of what we could do together." — Anne Kresta, Executive Director and President of the Board of Directors, Level It Up
Results
Three cohorts have now completed the new online course. Learners engage through self-paced modules, video assessments, reflection activities, and practice scenarios like mock interviews and elevator pitches. A redesigned gradebook with colour-coded skill zones replaced rigid pass/fail grading, keeping the focus on growth.
Future
Level It Up plans to use their course as the foundation for future builds, exploring new topics and reaching a broader learner base. With the tools, skills, and design framework now in place, NeonTrain remains a trusted partner as the organization continues to deepen its online programming and expand its impact.
